The Old, The New, & The Gone.

Broke in a new sketchbook for the year and even tried some new markers I had bought around Christmas. Throw in a drive around town and a day trip to Ponca City and here is what I came up with:

The featured sketch is an art installation in downtown Tulsa. I’m not sure how long they will be there so I thought I had better sketch them while I could. They were installed last year by artist Patrick Dougherty. If you get a chance, check it out.

This guy was in the process of demolishing the old Dr. Zoellner center on 31st and Harvard. That leaves a pretty big open area on that corner, I wonder if anyone is planning on building something there…
Marland Mansion in Ponca City. Beautiful place to visit, wish I had gone at a better time of year. So many unique details of paintings, decorations and sculpture. I would definitely like to visit again. Interesting history too.
