I saw the sign…

I didn’t think about it at the time, but my latest sketches both have signage as an element. Strange how that worked out without me planning it…

The QuikPrint sketch is from downtown Tulsa and the other from Sand Springs. I went to Sand Springs on Saturday to meet up with a local urban sketchers group. They are a nice group of people that I enjoyed meeting and I hope to sketch with them again in the future. I think they try to get together once a month, if you are interested look them up. They are on Facebook as Urban Sketchers Tulsa.

Well, I guess that is all for January, time to start planning my next sketching trip for February.

View from the Burger King downtown. There is a building under construction so it is a little chaotic on that intersection.
Veterinarian in Sand Springs. Their sign is what caught my eye initially, but there is a lot of other interesting things going on like the plant that is growing on the building and the rustic rock/wooden building next door. Sand Springs has some nice subject matter that is worth taking another look. It would be great to sketch during the Herbal Festival they have in the springtime.
